Garden CampAges 4-6

  • Let's Get Growing Garden Camp

In this fun hands-on camp week, preschoolers will discover how, why, and where things grow, how weather affects our gardens and the basic science of seeds. They will also get acquainted with the many “creepy crawly” inhabitants of the garden & how those insects help make gardens so beautiful!

Ages 5-9

  • Birds, Beasts and Beyond: Earth Explorations

Children will have fun with hands-on experiments that will increase their understanding of our good ship Earth! They will learn how animals are camouflaged and go on the hunt for scents and tracks as they take a walk on the wild side of science, and discover what adversely affects our planet as we explore conservation.

Ages 6-8

  • Secret Agent Lab

Step into the shoes of a detective—uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Explore forensic science through the eyes of both a detective and spy. Are detectives really scientists in disguise? Use your skills of listening, testing, and observation during this week of detection. The correct conclusions are critical to solving the crime scene puzzle!
  • STEAM Camp: Design, Build, Create

STEM meets Art in our exciting S.T.E.A.M. Camp. Do you love to build, design and fix things? Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math are all explored in this new camp! Put on your engineer's hat for this exciting week, where we will assemble and work with a variety of simple machines, structures and more! Become a true Mad Scientist as you learn about chemical reactions, and a young astronaut while exploring the mysteries of the solar system.

Ages 6-11

  • Crazy Chemworks

This action-packed camp explores the chemistry of everyday life! Kids will both learn and apply the concepts, tools and techniques of real chemists! Campers will learn real lab techniques and safety procedures, and use these throughout the week to mix crazy concoctions and chemical combinations. They will experiment with super-sticky-stuff, explore glow-in-the-dark technology, mix potions, make slime, and grow crystals! Each camper will take home a full set of Mad Science lab gear!
  • Guts, Goo and Gross Science

Use your skills as a creepy chemist to make your own radically gross reactions with batteries, coins, and more! Compare fingerprints and discover the mysteries of DNA as you fine-tune your secret agent skills. Make "brain goo" and check out your bones as your travel the organ trail. Explore the icky inside of your body and learn about the organ systems and the cells that compose them with an introduction to the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, skeletal, and muscular systems. Discover cool and yucky chemical reactions and how to solve a crime in this hands-on science adventure!
  • Eureka! Camp for Inventors

A camp for Inventors! Children will overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and the most important of all – their mind. With a little bit of ingenuity children will create aircrafts, construct working light sticks to take home and assemble a set of circuits with batteries and light bulbs. While Thomas Edison said "invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration", this camp is 100% FUN!
  • Shipwreck Island

This camp puts children on a “deserted island” on which they must work together to devise a means for collecting food and water, build shelters, bridges, and learn about the science behind survival fun! They use the tools at hand to write messages to send in a bottle and witness a volcanic eruption. The children eventually design a means to escape the island and come home.

Ages 7-11

  • NASA: Journey Into Outer Space

Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond! Explore planets, moons and other space phenomena in our solar system. Discover the difficulties of space travel, the challenges of living in space and try assembling a satellite while training to be an astronaut. Build your own Mad Science rocket and launch several with the group. Campers will have lots of projects to make and to take home, plus - Mad Science is the ONLY organization licensed to use these activities for summer camps and school programs. All material developed by Mad Science and NASA.
  • Flight Academy

From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, this hands-on program will allow campers to build many different flying devices. Junior test pilots will launch a variety of flying machines including; balloon copters, a hovercraft, paper airplanes, kites, Frisbees, parachutes, a solar bag, solid fuel rockets and more! You are cleared for takeoff!
  • Spy Academy

Look out 007—the Mad Science Spy Academy is in session! Use your powers of observation to solve problems and uncover crimes. Check out security systems, cool spy equipment, and discover proper procedures that are used in real crime scene labs! Mad Science Spy Academy camp will help you sharpen your special operative skills as you learn about the secret world of espionage. The key to being a great spy is your ability to use science to “sniff” out your suspects and uncover their secrets.
  • 3...2..1. Blast Off to Space

Take a trip into the galaxy! Campers will learn about the history of space travel and how some space vehicles work. They will use stomp rockets, water rockets and engine powered rockets to explore the physics of flight. This camp will introduce children to and show them how amazing our Milky Way is. Leave camp with your own rocket.

Ages 7-12

  • Brixology: Engineering 101

Join us for a week of engineering using popular building toys. Find out how mechanical and civil engineers overcome forces of gravity and inertia to design structures. Learn the steps in the Engineering Design Process as you build a carnival ride, bridges, tower, elevator, and space station.
  • Brixology: Things That Move

Extend your engineering knowledge by adding motors and movement to your designs. Experiment with gears, motors, and propulsion to make things move. Use the Engineering Design Process and learn about mechanical engineering and biomimicry. Use your new knowledge to build a paddle boat, car, walking ant, and a machine that draws on its own.
  • Mission: Code

Mission: Code is a unique summer camp experience that allows kids to learn essential coding skills while also engaging in active games and hands-on learning. Kids will develop computational thinking and problem solving skills in an online game environment where you give a robot a set of instructions to follow in order to solve the level. Each coding session provides kids with a fundamental skill set including algorithms, functions, relative directions and sequences. The combination of online activities paired with engaging offline activities like scavenger hunts, code-cracking mysteries and team robotics challenges that keep kids active and reinforce coding skills is a winning formula for fun in the summer!

Ages 8-11

  • Physics Fun: Games of Motion

Gravity... Inertia... Centripetal force... who could ever imagine that an introduction to physics could be so much fun? We’ll experience these awesome forces for ourselves and create some cool devices to watch them at work! Build a rocket from recycled materials, a gravity simulator, learn how your favorite games and toys are all about physics! Design an amazing stick bomb track and discover Newton’s Laws of Motion and more in this hands-on program all about motion.
  • All About Rockets

Mad Science invites you to launch your knowledge of rockets in this exciting rocketry camp. Our aspiring rocket scientists master the model rocket safety code and are cleared for launch! In this camp, students will focus solely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. They will prepare for launches, perform the role of altitude trackers and launch rockets propelled by water and solid fuel engines. Young rocket scientists will build multiple designs and participate in daily launches. Houston…We have lift-off!

Ages 8-12

  • Red Hot Robots

Join us for a week of fun with amazing robots! Learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time experimenting with super cool, red-hot robots. Discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore things around them. Use your skills to build your very own working robot to take home to “live” with you.
