Meet Sarah Tonin - the amazing face of Mad Science!
Sarah Tonin has been with the Mad Science team since 2013, you may have seen her at an after school club, preschool program, summer camp, or an event! We were also very fortunate to have Sarah join us full time in 2015, and now she is also the voice of Mad Science! Happy to answer questions about our birthday parties or get you enrolled in the club, if you are working with Mad Science you will probably get to work with her! Her bubbly personality and awesome sense of humor will make you adore this essential team member!
Professor Ella Ment does it all - from classes to chemicals, she gets it right!
A Mad Science MVP, Professor Ella Ment brings her strong background as a civil engineer and her love of science to deliver top notch educational program and enhance all of our programming with the best methodologies. She is a huge fan of our Brix-O-Logy engineering program, and helps train all of our instructors on the engineering process. When she isn't teaching, Professor Ella Ment is prepping our supplies to make sure every program runs smoothly and helping new instructors find their groove! When we let her out of the lab she goes home to her own 13-year-old computer scientist, photographer enthusiast hubby, and handsome cat, Sebastian Schrödinger.
What people are saying about Anna Lyze:
"Anna Lyze did a wonderful job at our son's 9th birthday party. The kids, ranging in age from 4 to 10 all had a ball. The adults were entertained as well. I would definitely do this again."
"Anna Lyze did a great presentation and the kids loved it! Terrific birthday party!"
You may know Dr. Doctor from a party you attended, a preschool program, a club, or an event!
"As a child I spent my days in the woods catching frogs, snakes and grasshoppers. In college I studied biology then worked as a veterinary technician. Now I bring the same sense of curiosity and wonder about the world around me I had as a child to the children of the Triangle with the help of Mad Science."
When she isn't in the lab working on "grown-up" science, Steph-A-Scope can be found across the triangle at birthday parties, discovery stations, and other Mad Science events!
What parents are saying about Steph-A-Scope: "Thank you so much to Steph-ascope for such an amazing time this weekend. My son's 9th birthday was a blast! "
Meet Ms. Möbius:
"I love working at Mad Science because I get to show kids how exciting science is with all sorts of cool experiments and demos! My undergraduate degree is in chemical and biomolecular engineering but I decided to teach math after I graduated. I later switched to private tutoring, so teaching in front of classes for Mad Science is a great treat! I also love languages. I speak Spanish fluently. I live in Cary with my husband and three cats."
Meet Astronaut Ana:
"I have been an aspiring astronaut for as long as I remember, and am working toward one day piloting an Orion capsule, so I have always been a huge fan of science!"
Astronaut Ana has worked with students in afterschool clubs in many settings, and is majoring in Elementary Education.

Meet Cosmic Christina. She is our all-around gold medalist! A champion at birthday parties, camps, after-school clubs, and shows. There is no stopping this Mad Scientist!
Cosmic Christina spends the school year teaching high school mathematics, but is back with us during the summer to bring Mad Science to kids all over the Triangle! Keep an eye out for this all-star.
Meet Marie Curious, aka Stephenie Price, Owner and President of Mad Science.
Stephenie has a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration from Goldsmiths, University of London and is a graduate of Tulane University. She has been involved with the Mad Science program since 2005, and with the Triangle location since 2010. Getting kids excited about science from an early age and encouraging a lifelong proclivity for curiosity and imagination is Stephenie's passion.
